Backgammon multiplayer

Play backgammon with real opponents!

Backgammon is one of the oldest games in the world. Traditionally believed to be occurring in the region of ancient Egypt, Sumer and Mesopotamia (present-day Iran, Iraq and Syria). Recent evidence indicates that the game was created on the eastern borders of present-day Iran, near Afghanistan. Name that we know comes from the Latin tabula, which means "table" or "board". Tbula kind of backgammon, played in Ancient Rome. Is so called because it is played on a special board. The game resembles the Egyptian Senet, which is dated at least before 3000 BC

Tabula rules were very similar to those of today's boards. Again, each player has 15 pieces and again the goal was to be taken faster pools. The difference is that the beginning of the game no placements on the board pieces. They should be put into play by throwing the dice. Another difference is that they have been three, and not as now - two dice. And the last difference is that both players have started from the same position and rolled pieces on the board in the same direction.

In the initial sequence are all pieces on the board - 2 pieces of position 24, 5 pcs. of pos. 13, 3 pcs. of pos. 8 and 5 pos. 6. For one player position 24 in the upper right corner of the board and he moved his pieces in the direction of rotation is counterclockwise. For other player position 24 in the upper left corner of the board and he moved his pieces in the direction of rotation clockwise strelka.Taka position 1 of each player is 24th on the other, the sixth corresponds to the 19th and 12th of the 13th.

Checker can be moved if the final position is empty, occupied by one or more of their own pools, or from one opponent's piece. In the latter case the opposing checker is "hit" or "killing of game." A player who is playing checkers off is obliged to put into play in positions 24 to 19 (1 to 6 for the opponent) depending on the rolled dice. Other pieces can not be moved until all are brought into play.

Removing the piece from the game led to loss of moves to re-move and blocked for non pool outside the game. Protection is provided through the collection of more than one piece on the position - building a "point" (CUP). Construction of several "Points" protect their own pools and limiting the opponent's moves, but reduces the potential created under the following moves.

In some variants of backgammon computer is multiplying the possible points in the victory. Each player may propose doubling of future results. If the other player accept the game winner will receive 2 (for "Mars" 4) points, and if he refuses to recognize as losses. Accepted the player may request a new double. The total number of doublings can be up to 6 (3 per player) and the end result to reach 64 (128).
